DAP pays courtesy visit to newly appointed OPAPRU Sec. Sarmiento

The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) led by 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞-𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐋. 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐳𝐚, alongside 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞-𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐚 𝐂. 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐬 𝐓. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚ñ𝐞𝐳, and 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐍. 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐚, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐧 𝐒. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨, of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) on May 6, 2026.  

During the meeting, Sec. Sarmiento shared his vision for the office, highlighting the importance of collective efforts with local governments in local peace talks and reintegration programs, and the important role of DAP in capacitating government agencies and in strengthening leadership in the public sector.  

Secretary Sarmiento also serves as a resident subject matter expert and faculty member of DAP’s Local Government Executives and Managers Class (LGEMC) under the Public Management Development Program (PMDP), where he contributes his expertise in local governance, public leadership, and peacebuilding.
