DEPDev Undersecretary Rosemarie G. Edillon and DAP’s Acting Executive Vice President Magdalena L. Mendoza graced the opening program and welcomed the participants who represent stakeholders from the Provinces of Bataan and Batangas; and the Cities of San Fernando, La Union; and Tuguegarao, Cagayan.

Day 1 session started with Usec. Edillon’s session on the Philippine labor market, the TPB Act, and Plan for 2025-2034, the priority strategies and industries, and future-proofing of the labor market. This was followed by the sessions of Dr. Emmanuel F. Esguerra on workforce situation; and of Department of Labor and Employment Director Patrick P. Patriwirawan, Jr. who discussed the multi-stakeholder labor market governance. By applying foresight planning approaches, the participants are expected to draft their WDPs that are aligned with local priorities and the rapidly evolving future of work.
